PRP Microneedling

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) treatments originated in orthopedic medicine and reconstructive surgery to improve recovery naturally. The cosmetic use of PRP helps damaged, aging skin to produce new collagen and elastin for a glowing, rejuvenated, more youthful-looking complexion. Over time, our skin begins to show signs of lifestyle-induced or sun-induced damage such as fine lines and wrinkles, acne scars, hyper-pigmentation, enlarged pores, and uneven skin texture. These visible skin problems can cause distress and can have a negative impact on our self-esteem. That’s left many men and women to seek out non-surgical solutions to improve and rejuvenate their skin for a more vibrant and youthful appearance.

At iBeauty Clinic, one of our go-to rejuvenation treatments is Micr-open the world’s first, and only FDA Approved device to revolutionize Micro-needling with PRP (Platelet-Rich-Plasma). It’s a fast, convenient procedure done in a simple office visit. This procedure offers effective results and quick recovery time without the side effects that are associated with more invasive treatments. Micro-needling with PRP is a treatment that involves the use of two procedures that work synergistically to rejuvenate skin. The PRP (Platelet-Rich-Plasma) procedure begins with an initial blood draw upon arrival to our office. Your specialist will then separate blood platelets and prepare the enriched plasma (growth factors, platelets, and stem cells) for reinsertion to predetermined treatment areas.

Currently, facial rejuvenation is likely the most sought out cosmetic modality. Dermatologists, med Spas and their patients seek an effective, minimally invasive procedure with minimal downtime and side effects with long- lasting results.
Most minimally invasive procedures aim to maintain the overlying epidermis while creating dermal injury; therefore, stimulating wound repair and neocollagenesis. Current minimally invasive techniques include nonablative lasers, radiofrequency, ultrasound, chemical peels, microdermabrasion, injectable fillers, mesotherapy, and microneedling.

Microneedling, or collagen induction therapy, is a minimally invasive skin rejuvenation procedure that involves the use of a device that contains fine needles. These needles are used to puncture the skin at various depths to create a controlled skin injury. Each puncture creates a channel that stimulates neovascularization and neocollagenesis to fill these microscopic wounds. A variety of microneedling devices exist with needle sizes ranging from 0.1 to 5.0 mm. Outcomes of microneedling vary based on the device, the depth of needle penetration, frequency of needle penetration, and the number of passes.2 The needles traumatically create pores in the dermis, which stimulates the release of growth factors and cytokines. The growth factors and cytokines in turn stimulate collagen, elastin, and neovascularization.3 Studies have shown that microneedling initiates collagen synthesis, specifically collagens I, III, and VII.4 Needling sessions are typically spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart. Microneedling has minimal side effects and can be used safely in patients with skin types III-VI in addition to patients with a history of melasma.Microneedling should be avoided in patients with a history of keloid or hypertrophic scarring, inflammatory dermatoses, history of herpes simplex virus in perioral area, or any type of growth in the target area. Absolute contraindications for microneedling include scleroderma, collagen vascular disease, clotting disorders, active infection, and immunosuppression.

The facelift treatment is relatively simple and can be completed in just one session. We collect the platelet-rich plasma by drawing a small amount of your blood, putting it into an FDA cleared device, placing it in a centrifuge and spinning it until the platelets separate from the blood. The PRP solution is then injected into the areas of concern and begins the regeneration of the skin.

The second part of the procedure involves Mirco-Needling, using the world’s first (and only of its kind) SkinPen® device. The revolutionary SkinPen® device uses a single-use micro-needle attachment that is adjusted to your skin type and thickness. It is a safe, non-invasive device that offers the most effective patient outcome with the least amount of recovery time. The Micro-pen device passes along the surface of the skin to create controlled micro-injuries or channels that stimulate the body’s natural wound-healing process. During this healing response, collagen and elastin are produced resulting in firm, even skin tone and texture, as well as a healthy looking complexion.

Most patients experience minimal discomfort during the Micro-needling treatment. You may feel a sensation similar to light sandpaper or a dry brush being moved across the surface of the skin. The procedure can take as little as 30 minutes.
Microneedling using the SkinPen® device produces minimal side effects. You may experience slight redness, dryness, or tenderness after your treatment. These symptoms will typically subside within a few days, similar to a sunburn. You will begin seeing results almost immediately following your treatment. You’ll notice a more even, radiant complexion. As collagen production continues over the next few weeks, your skin will continue to gradually improve. We have seen enhanced benefits by adding microneedling to the bRegenerative Platelet-Rich Plasma facial rejuvenation. Our skin care experts believe this is one of the best anti-aging procedures harnessing your body’s natural healing power. This combined treatment results in even skin tone and smoother skin. While the immediate results after treatment may look red, bloody, and inflamed, glowing skin will appear in the following weeks and last for months. The inflammation causes the correction of areas of concern and triggers cellular rejuvenation.
